I started this blog as an assignment when I was a library school student. I have sporadically added posts over the last few years. I find that I remember books better when I annotate them so here I go again.
But first here's an update on what's happening in my life. In February 2018 I became the Adult Services/Reference Librarian for the Newburgh Chandler Public Library. It wasn't my dream job of Teen Librarian but it was a chance to gain experience as a department head. Fast forward to February 2020. I was offered the job of Teen Services Librarian for the three branches of our library system. I was estatic and quickly began planning the summer reading program and started getting back up to speed on teen lit and authors. Three weeks later the library shut down because of COVID and opened up for curbside services only in May. By July we reopened our doors to the public but we still haven't resumed any in-person programming.
You would think that I spent all that time off catching up on my reading. Sadly, I did not. I found I couldn't concentrate on anything for longer than a few minutes. Instead I sat on the sofa and channel surfed surrounded by cats. It has only been over the last few weeks that I have found myself really getting into reading (still on the sofa and still surrounded by cats).
